i was thinking this morning about socks. and how they migrate to places other than in the washer/dryer or your sock drawer and get lost. i know everyone has experienced, thought of, and probably heard five comedians do some bit on the "one-sock phenomenon." but it made me think this morning, what if there were tracking devices on every single thing i've ever owned? where is that sock i lost last week? what about the she-ra action figure i had when i was five? i lost it, where did it go?

wouldn't it be interesting to hear or see the story of all your possessions that you've either lent out, given away, or just lost altogether? what is the story of the person who bought the shirt that i took to good will? that person who stole rock star's gear out of his car a year ago, is he/she a good musician now? does he/she even play guitar? wouldn't it be interesting to find out?

in other news, i led worship for the FCA pastors' conference this morning in chapel. all that means to you, the reader, is that there were an extra hundred people in the sanctuary. we (my worship band) did an old matt redman song called "lord let your glory fall." it's always been one of my favorite songs... the chorus goes "You are good, You are good, and Your love endures." it's funny, because we don't sing this particular song that often, and i really didn't expect very many of the pastors to know it well, since it's kind of new, and most of them were middle-age plus men. but when we got to that part, the chorus, it was just... thick is the only word i can think of to describe it. from the stage it was just like a wall of sound coming to me from the audience. i've led worship for a lot of different groups, many smaller than the one i had this morning, some larger than the one i had this morning... but this morning was different. i very tangibly felt the presence of God and it was... thick. quite amazing. after that it didn't matter that i had earlier in the morning been very frustrated with the lack of proper communication that happens between people in authority at my college... You are good, You are good.

poop on the weather.
