you know how when you go to the post office to deliver or retrieve a package, you usually have to stand in line and wait for one of a few different registers to open up so that the post person might assist you in your endeavor? well, upon receiving a slip yesterday saying that i had a package waiting for me, i decided to make the haul over to the wheeling post office today on my break between classes. if you live in wheeling, i don't recommend that you have your mail shipped to a wheeling address. buy additional property in mt. prospect or arlington heights and have your mail shipped there. making it to the wheeling post office could very well be an all day field trip unless you live right next to it, as Dundee, one of the major roads in the northwest suburbs of chicago, is under heavy construction. i don't understand what construction workers do, because i remember approximately three years ago coming to chicago to visit some of my friends and the very same road being under construction for what looks to be the exact same reason. and that is a crime against humanity, because i don't think anything is actually being accomplished. all the construction dudes and chicks were lounging around in two of the four lanes that are Dundee, eating caviar and poking at people who had their windows rolled down with long poles. there was this hispanic woman who reminded me of that chick in the movie Grease that was trying to get with john travolta. remember her? the good dancer? chi chi or gigi or schmi schmi or something? yeah, this woman had a flag like she was starting some race and she was waving it around all seductively and such. i think it was supposed to indicate that the driver was to slow down, but that's kind of a given, seeing as how traffic in that area doesn't move faster than about 2.75 mph right now. anyhow, it wasn't as entertaining as it needed to be to compensate for the amount of time i spent in traffic. but i think as i was leaving the area i saw the construction crew break out into song and dance in a stunning rendition of "grease lightning." i'm sorry i missed the show.

so i made it to the post office and back to school and now i'm off to work. starbucks calls. stop by if you're in the area. and if you're not in the area, freaking go see brother luck play tonight!!!!!
