so in the past 48 hours, i've driven almost 1300 miles. holy crap that's a lot of driving. wed. i left chicago at around 4, made it to des moines at 10:30. then i got up at 2:45 AM and headed to rozi's hometown, abilene. so mapquest was almost right. it said 13 hours, 46 minutes. it took 13 hours, 18 minutes. damn that's a long drive. but i'm in TEXAS. and it's great. it kind of almost feels like home. there are a lot of places that feel like to me. des moines, omaha, chicago. but this time it's with a whole state. i crossed the texas stateline and i let out a WHEEEEEEEEE in my car as i passed a bunch of tourists who had pulled off the interstate and were taking pictures of themselves in front of the "welcome to texas" sign. i almost pulled over to join them, but i decided it was more important for me to be at the wedding rehearsal on time than it was for me to have a picture of a bunch of people i don't know in front of the welcoming sign.

4:30. wedding. wow. so WEIRD. i'm playing a buddy holly song. "true love ways." it'll go well. it's just weird. and i'm a little sick so i'm struggling to keep my voice in tact, but it will be fine. more than that though i'm just freaked out.
