baby, think it over.a couple thoughts tonight.
first, i'm rooting for david cook. i'm not made of stone, people. he's pretty dreamy. i don't even care for his voice all that much. killer personality and super cute... jeanna would totally have picked him as my american idol boyfriend, especially since the whole jon peter lewis thing didn't work out back in season 3. that's alright. i like cook better.
second, one of my girls at the tutoring program had one of those "Baby Think it Over"s today. for those of you who don't know what a Baby Think it Over is, allow me this opportunity to enlighten you.
a Baby Think it Over is a life size infant simulator (read: plastic baby) that many schools give to kids in their human growth and development classes to help teenagers realize the responsibility inherent with having a baby, and to hopefully reduce teen pregnancies. high schoolers are each given a Baby Think it Over doll for a few days, which cries at random intervals, and in order to stop the crying, the carrier must insert a key-like thing into a hole on Baby Think It Over's back, and must hold the key in place until the infant laughs. the student must then record the time that the baby started crying, what time it laughed, and what "parent" activity the crying interrupted.
apparently, these "babies" are equipped with an internal computer that can detect proper "feeding", burping, and general mishandling, and then can report that information back to an instructor. pretty complicated, if you ask me. when i was in school, they used to use a diaper-wrapped brick, or bag of flour. now you have an *almost* real baby. so, my question tonight is this:
how many teenagers, before deciding whether or not to have sex, stop and think: wait, what are we doing? don't you remember Baby Think it Over? that doll was so annoying! maybe we should rethink this... do you think it was any more than stopped and thought about the diapered brick or bag of flour? if you know the answer to this, or your life has been forever affected by Baby Think it Over, you should definitely let me know.
thirdly, my brother is awesome.
