last night i fell in love. lisa and i took her dog for a walk yesterday evening, and then she decided we should go for a cruise in her honda S2000 convertible. so we drove. and drove. and where did we end up? downtown houston. until last night i had never actually been in the downtown area, except passing by on I-45. and as we were driving through the streets of houston, i looked up at all of the high rises (because i could since we were in a convertible) and i sighed. the skyline is so beautiful at night. i love the city. i'm going to miss texas.
for the past 4 weeks since i arrived in houston, every time i drive down louetta to get to the interstate, i always see this sign off to my right that advertises a photography studio that specializes in doing portraits for kids' recitals. the sign on the side of the road says "recital pictures here!" nothing out of the ordinary there, right? well... the first few times i drove down the road, i don't know if the "i" and the "t" ran together in my head, or if really they are just too close together on the sign board, but for about a week i seriously thought that the sign in front of showstoppers photography read, "rectal pictures here!" i'm not making this up. rectal pictures. i was mystified and entertained at first because a) the business is called showstoppers and b) what sort of advertising gimmick is being employed by someone who proclaims that his business specializes in rectal pictures? FUNNY.
i have to be at work in a couple hours. i got up early today because i was planning on working out before i went in, but my abs and arms are still so sore from my intensive tricep/pectoral workout a few days ago that i can barely move. i decided to change my split so that i was training those muscle groups on the same day, and i did 4 exercises per group. by the time i got to the sixth exercise on saturday, my muscles said, "haha! you lose!" and i'm still paying for it. haha good story i'm done.
