sorry for the lack of posting friends. internet hasn't been working here until a few days ago. here meaning HOUSTON.

yes, dear ones. i am in the fabulous state of texas. the largest state in the continental united states. the only one with a state constitution that allows for it to secede from the union again someday. and don't think they won't do it. crazy texans. :) i love them.

after a 16 hour drive on ZERO sleep on monday, i made it into the ever-sweltering city of houston on monday evening. i met lisa, my very cool roommate for the next 2 months, for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the house i'm living in is quite spacious and with pool. after making this discovery, i promptly went to sleep and pretty much woke up 15 hours later.

the next day i slept, slept, and slept some more, and lounged around for approximately 8 hours before i went into a local starbucks for an interview to see if the manager would hire me for a couple months so that i can make some money while i'm here. how did it go, you ask? well, it went very well until she asked me what the starbucks' mission statement was, to which i replied, "ummm... bite me." not really. actually i just stuttered and said i didn't know, which may have been worse. she said she would call on thursday to let me know where she could get me hours. of course she didn't. but that's okay... i'm looking into other stores and learning the starbuck's mission statement in the meantime. then i went to rock star's birthday party for about 20 minutes. that was interesting. first time we had seen each other since christmas day. i don't know what else to say about it other than the meeting was... okay. rock star looks good, but he's still the same person. remember what i said about people who refuse to change?

i went to a brotherluck practice on tuesday night, which was a blast. i saw rozino and kim and CADEN, and let me tell you, that little baby is a HOTTIE. if i wasn't 20 years his senior, i might have married him. we practiced tuesday and wednesday to prepare for the show we had last night and for the studio time rozi booked on friday and saturday. good times, good times.

thursday i went to see sarah in friendswood. that was a precious reunion as well... i've missed that girl. :) we had chocolate shakes at chili's and talked til 1:30 am. soo good to see her.

friday i went with the guys of brotherluck to the studio for awhile... try fitting 9 people in a super-cramped room. THAT was fun. there was a violent thunderstorm, and in the pouring rain i made a new good friend. preston roan. great guy. more on that later.

yesterday was our show at sidecar pub, which coincidentally was the place where i met rozi for the first time a little under a year ago. it was... slightly aggravating... between a lost capo that wasn't actually lost, rozino overusing his voice earlier in the day, my inability to hear myself onstage... i guess that's it. it was fun, but could have been better...

so that's a rundown of the week. today was church and sunday afternoon nap. mmmm... those are the best. how's ara, you ask? we're pathetic. we've talked on the phone every day since i left chicago. tee hee hee. actually, sometimes more than once a day. wow. that's gross. but cute. jeanna would say, "he looooooooves you." yes'm. that's what she would say.
