so for the past month my car has been making a funny noise. i neglected to do anything about it for a couple weeks because erik drove my car around and thought that the problem was easily fixable but that he wouldn't have time to remedy the problem for me until after finals. so erik looks at my car last weekend, and no luck. i take my car to this dude at midas who ara referred me to, and he listens to the sound and then shakes his head at me, as if to say, "you suck." actually that's not what he said. he said, "i can almost guarantee you that you have a rod knock," to which I answer, "what the (bleep) is a rod knock?" he says, "you don't want to know." basically a rod knock on my car = needs a new engine. what, the original engine isn't good enough for you now? is that what you're saying car? bite me.

so i take car to local honda dealership. the mechanic does a diagnostic test, finds out the sound is coming from two places: my exhaust and my engine. he calls the warranty place (extended warranty on my car is still good), they say in order to determine if what is wrong with my car is covered under warranty, the mechanic must tear apart my engine. which he does. he calls back the warranty place, tries to get everything worked out, the warranty place gives him and my mom the runaround, referring them to three different people, each saying that they are not responsible for providing the funds for warranty claims. bite me. so for the past three days we have been praying that God would work out this situation in our favor so that i don't have to pay an obscene amount of money to get my engine replaced. and finally, due to some brilliant work on my mom's and stepdad's part, it looks as though the situation is going to be resolved without us having to sue the pants off of all the companies involved in trying to scam us. thank you jesus!

so a big shout out to all of you who prayed. thank you so much. now i'm off to bed. for those of you wondering, i didn't leave chicago today. and it could be awhile before i do finally leave. more time to hang out with everyone. that's nice.
